Downtown Gainesville Santa Crawl

Downtown Gainesville Santa Crawl is a unique and fun way to celebrate the holiday season and help the children of the Gainesville community have a happier Christmas. Participants of the event are required to dress up in costumes related to the holiday season. The most popular costume is Santa or Mrs. Santa. However in past years, participants have been very creative and have come as candy canes, snowflakes and even reindeer. But don't worry, a Santa Hat or ugly Christmas sweater is acceptable. A donation of a toy or gift card is the admission to this festive pub crawl.

The different venues in downtown Gainesville offer specials to the Santa Crawl participants. Cover charges are waived for those dressed in holiday themed costumes. Happy Hour pricing and discounted menu items are often offered.

The event is usually held the first weekend in December and is always held in downtown Gainesville Fl.

The toys and gift cards collected at the Downtown Gainesville Santa Crawl are donated to a local charity for distribution in the Gainesville community.

Downtown Gainesville Santa Crawl is excited to announce we are partnering with Pledge 5 and the December First Friday for the 2012 edition of the Santa Crawl! The partnership will bring added opportunities for enjoyment and community giving. In addition to collecting toys the Downtown Gainesville Santa Crawl will be collecting donations of kid friendly food items to be used in the Holiday Backpack program. First Friday will be hosting Holiday Lights and collecting donations for Toys For Tots. Participants of the DGSC (Downtown Gainesville Santa Crawl) can also participate in the Holiday Lights events or just the Santa Crawl. Santa Crawl participants are still required to dress in Holiday costume, and can purchase the First Friday VIP ticket at half-price! Once again downtown venues will offer specials to the Santa Crawl participants. A raffle ticket for the First Friday Monster Energy End-of-the-Night Raffle will be given to those donating food items and toys. 

The festivities will feature a new costume contest – the Best Holiday Costume will win a cruise for two to the Bahamas and the Sexiest Santa ( Mr. or Mrs.) wins a salon package to the Sixth Street Station Salon. So get your elves busy preparing those costumes!

The 2012 Downtown Gainesville Santa Crawl Schedule:  Vello’s 6pm-7:15pm, Tall Paul’s 7:15pm-8:30, Group photo at the Hipp at 8:45pm, Lillian’s 9:00pm, Costume Contest and First Friday Raffle at the Opera House at 10:00pm, Rockey’s  at 10:30 and finally the Sharab After Party beginning at 11:30.
